JHS Tennis Tryout/Practice will be Aug 6th at 4:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Country Club. For more information you make pick up a form from the admin office.

Any current 7th or 8th grade student interested in participating in the yearbook club needs to submit their name to Mrs. Williams by this Friday. Yearbook staff will be selected based on work ethic, grades, character, and the ability to lead as well as follow. The following are positions on the yearbook staff that need to be filled: writers, editors, photographers, and designers. You may stop by her room anytime.
There are a few extra yearbooks for sale. They are $30 and can be purchased from Mrs. Williams in room # 301. Yearbooks will be sold on a first come first serve basis.
8th Grade Students: You have a great opportunity to participate in virtual courses next year! These classes would still be a class period at school, but would provide some flexibility if you have after school activities or other commitments. If you are interested, see Ms. Kelley in the counseling office.
8th Grade Students: Next year, we will be offering a new course for 9th grade student. The course is called Computer Science Programming and Coding. It will be a yearlong virtual course that allows students to explore and apply skills and concepts related to Computational Thinking and Problem Solving; Data and Information; Algorithms and Programs; Computers and Communications; and Community, Global, and Ethical Impacts. This course will help students learn to accomplish tasks and solve problems independently and collaboratively and give students the tools and skills needed to be successful in college and careers, whether in computer science or in other fields.
Bus forms will be going home on Thursday and must be filled out and returned by May 18th if students need transportation for next year. If a form is not filled out a student will not be assigned a bus for the beginning of the year
Girls basketball tryouts for students entering the 8th and 9th grade will be held May 15th, from 3:30 - 4:30. The girls trying out must have an up to date physical and will need to have proper shoes and attire to try out in and must have a ride to pick them up when the tryouts are over.

9th Grade Students: You have an opportunity to participate in the Congressional Youth Cabinet. This is a year long program that allows students to serve with current state senators through the policy making process to gain an understanding of how Congress works. Additionally, students will gain exposure to the legislative process and help solve currently issues facing young Americans. The program will allow students to gain a solid understanding of how they can make a positive difference in their community and country. CURRENT 7TH GRADE BOYS- Tryouts for next years 8th grade boys basketball team will be held on Wednesday, May 16 from 3:00-5:00 in the gym. You MUST present an updated physical to participate in the tryouts!
CURRENT 8TH GRADE BOYS- Tryouts for next years 9th grade boys basketball team will be held on Thursday, May 17 from 3:00-5:00 in the gym. You MUST present an updated physical to participate in the tryouts!
Tryouts for the Jonesboro high school girls' basketball team will be held on May 17th from 3:15-4:15 PM in the main high school gym. Those girls who want to tryout must be enrolled in the Jonesboro school district and have a current physical on file at the school or bring one to the tryout. No one will be allowed to tryout without a physical.
